The Nokia N95 8GB is the first cellphone to become DLNA certified , that is the first mobile phone that makes it easy to share content with your other consumer electronics around your home since it can communicate via WiFi. I don t know why the N93, N95 or any other of the other previous devices in the Nseries lineup didn t receive such certification, they did the same thing after all. This could be due to the fact that the N95 8GB is Nokia s flagship and any PR for it is good PR.

Okay, the patent title sounds inconspicuous enough, but the patent covers a mobile phone with removable storage, camera, internet connection, and the ability to download video and audio files.

DLNA has already certified over 1800 products in the personal computer and consumer electronic categories, but this is the first time the stringent guidelines for interoperability set by the DLNA have been met by a mobile phone. Mobile devices were included in the DLNA Networked Device Interoperability Guidelines that were published in early 2006, and are now part of the recently launched DLNA certification program.
