October 23, 2008 Yeah, the Mozilla guys may be feeling a little down since Google released its own Chrome web browser. After all, Google was one of Mozilla s biggest supporters. Oh well, you live and you move on, and that s exactly what that crew is doing. You may have heard about the development of Firefox Mobile web browser for cell phones, smartphones, and other mobile devices. Well, it seems that the first device to get Firefox Mobile is the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet.

NOKIA announced its latest tie-up with Universal Music Group to offer consumers in Philippines up to 100 songs from UMG artists, such as Mariah Carey, Maroon 5, Amy Winehouse, Duffy, U2, Nelly Furtado, OneRepublic, Rihanna and many more, when they buy a new Nokia 5320 XpressMusic or a new Nokia 5220 XpressMusic. Both music phones are now available in authorized Nokia stores and retail outlets.

During his keynote speech at the Smartphone Show Wednesday (Oct. 22), Kai Oistamo, Nokia ’s executive vice president, changed a title of his speech from “The Future of Smartphones” to “The Future of Computing.” “It’s time to recognise that today’s smart phones are full-fledged computers ,” said Oistamo.
Kodak, Nokia in in patent cross-license agreement news

Eastman Kodak and top mobile handset maker Nokia have entered into a patent cross-licensing agreement that will allow each company access to the other’s intellectual property portfolio. The license agreement, provides for Kodak to receive royalties from Nokia, Kodak said ina statement, without disclosing specific financial terms of the deal.

Nokia has announced a new CDMA mobile phone. This new model is Nokia 2228. Nokia 2228 is a slim compact mobile phone and it comes loaded with a 1.3 megapixel camera. The device is also capable of playing media files. It supports a variety of formats including MP4, AAC, AAC+, MP3 and MIDI. Nokia has also loaded the device with speaker dependent voice recognition in addition to integrated handsfree speaker. It has 20-25 MB of usable storage memory. PC connectivity is available through MicroUSB.

Available for all Symbian 9, S60 3rd Edition (mostly Nokia) smartphones, the software update fixes a few bugs and sports an upgraded and “better looking” interface and is now more user friendly, according to the company.
